One of our more competitive and fastest growing programs is Sledge Hockey. PSA has been offering the Sledge Hockey program for 14 years. Sledge Hockey is an innovative team sport that incorporates the same rules and discipline structure as ‘stand up’ regular ice hockey. In Sledge Hockey players sit on specially designed sleds with skate blades under the seat and use two sticks, not only to pass, stick-handle and shoot the puck, but also to propel and maneuver their sleds down the ice. PSA has two sledge hockey teams, the Junior Division and the Intermediate Division.
The Junior sledge hockey division is where players can work on developing their skills. The Intermediate division is for more advanced players who are willing to play a more physical game. Players will have the opportunity to work in game situations as well as working on more advanced techniques of sledge hockey. The sledge hockey teams have an opportunity to compete again EMHA teams and other sledge hockey teams throughout the season.
