On behalf of the Paralympic Sports Association (PSA) Board of Directors and staff, I am pleased to introduce to you the Paralympic Sports Association Strategic Plan (2009 – 2014). This Strategic Plan outlines a solid vision for the organization and a strong foundation on which advancements in sports and the organization, the staff, the members, volunteers, and parents/guardians of the PSA can achieve adapted sport and recreation.
PSA vision is to be an active, effective and valued part of the adaptive sporting community in Edmonton, from the recreational activity to the athlete that competes in the Paralympics. The Strategic plan will guide our efforts and create the necessary principles for increasing the participation rates and ultimately reaching the goals of raising public awareness and the financial stability required to continue to develop and grow adapted sport & recreation programs for the Paralympic Sports Association Membership. Everyone has a role to play in the organizations success, be it an athlete, coach, parent, volunteer and PSA staff.
In a world where people can make a difference through their dedicated involvement to a cause, it is our responsibility to continue to ensure we are meeting our goals and objectives. I challenge all of us to keep the strategic goals at the forefront of our decisions and consciously evaluate our achievements through the measures outlined in the strategic plan. Together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of all PSA members and in the adaptive sporting community.
