From any view… it’s HOCKEY!
Sledge Hockey is an innovative team sport that incorporates the same rules and discipline structure as ‘stand up’ regular ice hockey. Sledge Hockey players sit on specially designed sleds with skate blades under the seat and use two sticks, not only to pass, stick-handle and shoot the puck, but also to propel and maneuver their sleds down the ice. PSA Sledge Hockey is a part of HOCKEY CANADA www.hockeycanada.ca , HOCKEY ALBERTA www.hockey-alberta.ca/ and E.M.H.A www.emha.ca.
Sledge Hockey is fast paced, exciting sport, which is gaining popularity in Edmonton and Alberta. Sledges and sticks are provided for programs, as well as some hockey equipment for those who do not have their own. Anyone who has a love for ice hockey should try this exciting sport!
PSA offers the following sledge hockey programs.

- SLEDGES IN SCHOOLS This program is joint venture between the Paralympic Sports Association, coordinating the program, and The Children's Ability Fund, who provided funds to purchase the sledges.
- JUNIOR DIVISION Junior Division is designed for players who are new to the sport and developing their skills.
- INTERMEDIATE DIVISION Intermediate division is a continuation of the Novice program where players can work on developing their skills.
- NEW: Women's DIVISION This program is specifically designed for women who have never played sledge hockey before or women who play sledge hockey and want the comraderie or playing with other women!
- SENIOR DIVISION Senior division is for more advanced players who are willing to play a more physical game. For more information on the senior division contact the Edmonton Impact at www3.telus.net/eshc/home.html
