SLEDGE HOCKEY PROGRAM:
Junior Division: The junior division is where players can work on developing their skills. Players will have the opportunity to work in game situations as well as working on more advanced techniques of sledge hockey. The Sledge teams will have opportunity to compete again EMHA teams and other sledge hockey teams throughout the season.

Tuesdays from 6:15 – 7:15 pm

Registration Fee:
$180 plus 2 Mandatory Bingos
Intermediate Division: This intermediate division is for more advanced players who are willing to play a more physical game.

FORT SASKATCHEWAN SLEDGE HOCKEY
Open Division: This year the PSA is expanding the sledge hockey program to offer a open division in Fort Saskatchewan.

Floor Hockey tournament will be held at the ACT Centre Gymnasium in Edmonton, Alberta. The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2009 from 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.
PSA SQUARE DANCING:Officially known as the Swinging Spokes, this group of wheelchair dancers meet Mondays at the ACT Centre and performs locally and nationally. On occasion, they travel and meet other wheelchair square dancers in Canada and the U.S.

PSA SWIMMING PROGAM:PSA’s Swimming program has been working to improve the swimming skills of children with disabilities for a number of years. Our swimming program is specially designed to meet the varying needs of our members while providing small working groups and one on one assistance.
Learn to improve your skills with Certified Swimming Instructors working with the group to provide individualized instruction. Swimmers are further paired up with volunteers to offer one-on-one assistance (when possible) in addition to the instruction.
Swimmers are able to progress through the Lifesaving Society’s Program “Swim to Survive and Swim for Life”. Each swimmer will be grade in the Fall tern and again in the Spring term.

INDOOR SOCCER:Come out and have fun learning a little bit more about the world’s most played game. The program will be run on an introductory basis, with sessions coached by John G. De Maglio. The sessions will focus on skill development, helping you to become a better soccer player both mentally and physically and having lots of fun!

TAE KWON DO:Learn the skills and discipline of TAE KWON DO. Regardless of physical ability, any individual can benefit from Taekwondo. The Paralympic Sports Association in partnership with Tiger Tae Kwon Do is excited to offer this great program once again. Tiger Tae Kwon Do provides skilled instructors that use traditional training techniques, regardless of physical limitations, to help students achieve balance between body, mind, and spirit. The instructors the lessons to meet the goals and abilities of each individual. Children, teens, and adults of all levels and abilities will see the benefits of Tae Kwon Do. All participants will have the opportunity to be tested and move on to the next belt level.

Teen & Adult Group: The Paralympic Sports Association is once again holding TEEN NIGHT. Teen Group is a night filled with fun and activates. This is a great opportunity for Teens to be Teens and hang out with friends and participate in fun activates, which will be filled with FUN, FRIENDS and MEMORIES! Teen Group is available for individual’s ages 12 to 19 years.

PSA XMAS PARTY:PSA will once again be holding a Christmas Party for all our members and volunteers. This years event will feature the Winter Wonderland Games and a Comedy Magic Show the "Elf –in –Training”. And of course the, the Jolly Old Elf himself - SANTA CLAUS. This event will be entertaining for the entire family. Book by November 17th, 2008.

PSA’s is celebrating it’s 44th Anniversary Banquet! The PSA hosts this annual event to honor our members and volunteers. PSA always likes to recognize our many volunteers and dedicated participants and have a little fun doing it. There will be a BBQ meal followed by the presentation of athletic and volunteer awards. A family dance will follow and it promises to get your feet or wheels moving and this will be a good chance to let loose and show your dancing talents and style.

BRENDA BARTON MOTHER'S RETREAT: ATTENTION ALL MOTHERS!! PSA is hosting the 7th Annual Mothers’ Retreat Weekend.
The location chosen for this year’s Mother’s Retreat is the Village Creek Country Inn. This cozy accommodation is located in Alberta's Heartland, where it is nestled in the countryside at The Village at Pigeon Lake. The Resort is within walking distance to beautiful Pigeon Lake, one of Alberta's great recreation destinations, a picturesque boardwalk of country shops and services.
