Yippee for CAMP UNITY! Camp Unity is a week-long, live-in camp at the accessible CAMP HE HO HA on Lake Isle filled with FUN, FRIENDS and MEMORIES! In previous years, the camp was only for children and youth aged 8-18 years with a physical disability, but this year PSA is expanding the camp to also include young adults aged 18-25 years old to attend as well. The young adults will have a more flexible itinerary and will assist in the planning process for their week. Both camps are led by our staff, and are a well-trained team comprised of Senior Counselors, Junior Counselors and Resident Nurses all working together in the delivery of the camp.

**Campers needing extra assistance will be required
to bring an attendant ($160)**

CAMP OBJECTIVES

  • To develop social skills of campers through leisure and sport while maintaining a non-threatening, comfortable environment.
  • To promote independence and integration. Campers learn new skills as they participate in activities which are designed to meet individual needs.
  • Whenever possible, the program will introduce able-bodied youth to help develop awareness and acceptance of others who are physically disabled.

PROGRAMS OFFERED
All campers have the opportunity to experience familiar and new activities throughout their week at camp. Campers choose from a variety of arts and crafts, performing arts; lake front activities such as canoeing, paddle boating, barging, fishing, tubing, etc.; recreational activities such as wall climbing, swimming, mini-Olympics; sporting activities such as baseball, boccia, volleyball, floor hockey; as well as outtripping opportunities such as campfires, camp-outs, outdoor meals and field trips.
