A
"sledge" is a custom designed sled, similar to a toboggan,
which is mounted on skate blades. Two sticks, with picks
on one end, are carried by the participant and used for
mobility on the ice surface. The other end of the stick is
a hockey blade and is used for puck handling, passing
and shooting in sledge hockey.
