Amy MacKinnon - Executive Director
Amy has been a staff member with PSA since 2014, and has worked in the Disability community since 2004. She came to PSA from Spinal Cord Injury Alberta, and was previously on the PSA Board of Directors before taking on the position of Executive Director.
Amy became passionate about adapted sport while working at the Steadward Centre many moons ago. As a result of her background in Physical Education, her work at TSC and her personal interests, she developed a passion for making outdoor activities accessible to those with adapted needs and created the Adapted Adventures program at SCI-AB. This program became part of the programs offered through PSA when she started in 2014.
Amy has many interests and hobbies mostly involving the outdoors, mountains and being active, but is also very passionate about important social issues such as creating awareness about the plight of short people in society: #shortisthenewtall, #bathroommirrorstoohightoseemyface, #cannotseeanythinginacrowd, #5’1"forlife.
Sydney Deegan - Program Coordinator
Sydney has been working in adapted sport since 2012. She loves that PSA has a place for absolutely everyone. Her favourite sport is cycling; both upright and handcycling! When she isn’t working on PSA programs, you can find Sydney camping in the mountains with friends and family, doing yoga or reading!
Stephanie Fleming - Program Coordinator
Stephanie joined PSA after completing her practicum in winter 2015. After a short hiatus she was hired on as the sledge hockey program coordinator in fall 2015. She really enjoys introducing sledge hockey to kids through the sledges in schools program. Her favourite sport is rhythmic gymnastics, which she also coaches. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys snowboarding and baking!
Amy Hayward - Program Coordinator
Amy completed her practicum with PSA during the spring and summer of 2016 and because she was so awesome, was then hired on shortly after as a Program Coordinator. She enjoys learning about all the different adapted sports that PSA offers and loves meeting all the participants. When Amy is not working at PSA or coaching gymnastics, she is exploring local festivals and activities that Edmonton offers. She also loves all the confusion it creates having 2 Amy’s at PSA!
